Two more commit to Northeast women’s soccer team

NORFOLK – The Northeast Community College women’s soccer team has added two new signees to its Fall 2017 roster.

Chad Miller, Hawks coach, said he has signed Ellie Gess of Papillion-LaVista South High School in Papillion, and Lizzy McCalla of Canon City High School in Canon City, CO.

Gess served as captain in both her high school and club soccer teams in 2015-16. She was a varsity soccer letter winner her freshman through junior years, with senior year honors forthcoming, and was also voted most versatile soccer player in 2016 by her team and coaches.

Additionally, Gess has played basketball for Papillion-LaVista South, earning varsity letter honors her freshman through junior years.

McCalla is also a multi-sport athlete, earning Academic All-Conference honors in soccer, basketball and volleyball. She was named first team All-Conference in soccer during her junior year with plans to continue senior year, and earned Colorado Springs Gazette Preps All Region honorable mention in soccer. McCalla led the Colorado Springs Metro League in saves her junior year.

Gess and McCalla will join Ryanne Lueders of Lakeview High School in Columbus, and Emily Simmons, Pierce, as new additions to the Hawks’ fall roster.
