ALERTA DE FRAUDE / SCAM ALERT
La Oficina del Alguacil del Condado de Hall ha recibido llamadas telefónicas sobre intentos de fraudes y el Departamento de Policía de Grand Island ha tomado reportes de intento de estafas y dos personas han sido víctimas; uno fue estafado con $ 2,500 y otra víctima fue estafada de $1,500.
La gente está recibiendo llamadas donde el que llama se identifica como el teniente Gregg Schultz de la Oficina del Alguacil del Condado de Hall. El estafador le dice a la gente que han fallado en su deber de jurado y tienen que pagar una multa para evitar el arresto. El estafador entonces indicará a la gente ir a los negocios y comprar tarjetas de regalo, tarjetas de iTunes o tarjetas Green Dot para pagar las órdenes de aprehensión.
La oficina del Alguacil sí tiene un teniente de nombre Gregg Schultz, pero no es el que llama. El estafador mantiene a las personas en la línea telefónica durante un par de horas mientras van por las tarjetas Green Dot.
Recuerde que hay todo tipo de estafas y la oficina del Alguacil nunca le llamará y le pedirá pagar una multa con una tarjeta de regalo, Green Dot o iTunes.

SCAM ALERT
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office have received phone calls about attempted scams and the Grand Island Police Department have taken reports of attempted scams and two where victims were scammed out of 2500 dollars and another victim was scammed out of 1500 dollars.
People are getting phone calls with the scammer saying he is Lt. Gregg Schultz with Hall County Sheriff’s Office. The scammer is telling people that they have missed jury duty and have to pay a fine to avoid arrest. The scammer then will direct people to go to a business and buy gift cards, iTunes cards, or Green Dot cards in order to pay off the warrants.
The sheriff’s office does have a deputy named Gregg Schultz, but the scammers have in the past made up names of deputies and claimed they were a deputy sheriff. The scammer is keeping people on the phone for a couple of hours as they send them around town to buy the Green Dot cards.
Remember there are all types of scams and the sheriff’s office would never call and ask a person to pay off a fine with a gift card, Green Dot card or an iTunes card.
If you get a call like this hang up and you can always call the sheriff’s office if you have a question about the call.
