Multi-Cultural Center of Sioux Falls Offers Job Skills Program

The Multi-Cultural Center of Sioux Falls (MCC) has a Job Skills Program to assist the immigrant/refugee population to connect to job opportunities in our community.

The Job Skills Program (JSP) is an enhanced and unique program that is tailored to the needs of the Sioux Falls community, which includes extending our interpreting services expertise. Our staff works with each individual to determine and document education, languages spoken, previous work history and talents, skills and aspirations that would pertain to work.

The program provides work-related skills that aid in their success, including resume writing, understanding the interview process, emphasizing respect for other cultures, and teaching other aspects of U.S. culture. The program also provides a long-term support system with program participants by following up after employment is secured.

MCC staff act as the liaison between employer and employee to ensure needs are being met. English learning instruction with reinforcement in their native language and concrete job skills training in fields where job opportunities exist are provided to participants.

The program is free to participants and businesses. We have worked with over 500 clients for the last two and a half years, and have placed over 85% with a 90 day retention rate. If you are a business that needs employees, please contact us to see how we can help you be successful. If you are an immigrant or refugee that is looking for work, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
