LAST DAY TO VOTE EARLY AT ELECTION COMMISSION OFFICE FOR 2018 STATEWIDE GUBERNATORIAL GENERAL ELECTION

Omaha, Nebr. – The deadline for voters to vote an early voting ballot in person at the Election Commission is Monday, November 5, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. In addition to weekday office hours, the Election Commission is offering office hours for early voting on Saturday, November 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A voter may have an agent pick up his or her ballot at the Election Commission until Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The Election Commission office is located at 225 North 115th Street in Omaha (two blocks south and one block west of 114th and West Dodge Road). Voters visiting the Election Commission should be aware that 114th Street is currently closed between Pacific Street and Burke Street due to construction.

All early voting ballots must be received by the Douglas County Election Commission, either at its office or at one of the drop box locations listed below, by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

· South Omaha Library: 2808 Q Street

· Charles B. Washington Branch Library: 2868 Ames Avenue

· Ralston Police Department: 7400 Main Street, Ralston

· Milton R. Abrahams Branch Library: 5111 N 90th Street

· Drive-Up Location: Davenport Street between 114th and 115th

· Douglas County Election Commission: 225 N 115th Street

· Douglas County Engineer’s Office: 15505 W Maple Road

· Millard Public Schools Foundation: 5225 S 159th Avenue

· Bess Johnson Elkhorn Branch Library: 2100 Reading Plaza, Elkhorn

Voters who have returned their early voting ballot may check its status (accepted or rejected) by visiting www.votedouglascounty.com. On the home page under Quick Links, select “Early Voting Ballot Status.” This will redirect you to the Nebraska Secretary of State’s voter check page. Voters must complete the election, first name, last name, and date of birth fields to match the voter registration, and click “Search” to check the “Ballot Status” information. If the ballot was rejected, the voter should call the Election Commission at (402) 444-VOTE (8683) to learn if the issue may be resolved.

Voters may confirm their information, such as political districts and polling place as well as view their sample ballot, by contacting the Election Commission. On our website, at www.votedouglascounty.com, voters may enter their house number and zip code in the “Find Your Voting Information” area. Voters may also call the Election Commission at (402) 444-VOTE (8683) during business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
