A partir del lunes 11 de enero de 2021, los oficiales de policía de Omaha estarán buscando vehículos sin placas o con placas vencidas, sin registro y vehículos estacionados por mas de 48 horas en en la calle y serán remolcados inmediatamente.
Los vehículos estacionados en lugares prohibidos, como en una acera o bloqueando una acera, están sujetos a multas o a ser remolcados.
Los oficiales de policia también buscaran vehículos en propiedades privadas que violen el código de la ciudadh, como no estar estacionados en una superficie pavimentada o no estar en buen estado de funcionamiento. En estos casos, los oficiales dejarán un “Aviso” en la residencia informando que tienen 10 días para mover su vehículo. Los vehículos en propiedad privada que se considere que causan un peligro inminente para la salud o la seguridad pública, están sujetos a remolque inmediato.
Este aviso se proporciona para darles a los propietarios de vehículos la oportunidad de cumplir con las ordenanzas de la ciudad con respecto al registro de vehículos y potencialmente evitar que su vehículo sea remolcado.

OPD to Conduct Tow Sweep Operation
Starting Monday, January 11, 2021 Omaha Police Officers will be looking for unlicensed, unregistered vehicles, and dead storage vehicles (vehicles not moving after being parked on the street for over 48 hours). Unlicensed vehicles parked on city streets that do not have valid dealership in-transit stickers displayed are subject to being towed immediately. Vehicles found to be dead storage are also subject to being towed. Vehicles parked in prohibited places, such as on or blocking a sidewalk, are subject to being ticketed or towed.
Officers have been, and will continue to target vehicles or vehicle parts stored on private property that are in violation of city code such as not being parked on a paved surface, or not in proper working order. In these instances, officers will leave a “Notice of Nuisance” at the residence advising that the violation needs to be handled within 10 days. Vehicles on private property that are deemed to cause imminent danger to public health or safety, such as being on jacks are subject to immediate tow.
This notice is being provided in order to give vehicle owners the opportunity to come in compliance with city ordinances regarding the registration of vehicles and potentially prevent their vehicle from being towed.
